Ballast Point Appliance is an independent repair company for built-in Viking kitchen appliances, working in Orange Park and the surrounding part of Clay County.
One manufacturer, one room
We take work on Viking equipment and nothing else: ranges, wall ovens, cooktops, built-in refrigeration, ventilation and dishwashers. Turning down other brands is a deliberate constraint. It keeps the parts inventory shallow enough to actually carry, and it means the second visit is usually unnecessary.
The room is a constraint too, and it is worth stating plainly because the name causes confusion. Viking here is the appliance manufacturer — the equipment built into a kitchen. This is not a mechanical contractor. We do not install, service or diagnose furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, air handlers or house duct work, we hold no licence to, and a call about any of them is one we answer by saying so rather than by sending a van. The only duct we touch is the one a kitchen hood exhausts through, and the only refrigerant is the charge sealed inside a built-in refrigerator.
What independent means here
It means exactly what it says. We are not part of any manufacturer service programme, we hold no manufacturer appointment, and we claim no credential issued by an appliance manufacturer — because none of that would be true. When you call us you are hiring an independent contractor, and you should be able to verify that in ten seconds.
The credential we do hold
EPA Section 608 certified technicians. Section 608 certification is required by federal law to handle refrigerant. It is issued by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, not by any appliance manufacturer. It is the certification federal law requires for anyone opening a sealed refrigeration system, and it is issued to individual technicians, not to companies or to brands.
How we price
$80 flat to diagnose. Flat diagnostic fee, credited toward the repair when you approve the work. You get a written estimate before any part is ordered or any labour is billed. Work is warranted for 90 days on labour and 365 days on parts, and we fit genuine OEM parts.
What we will not do
- Quote a repair before measuring the appliance.
- Fit a part that is not the manufacturer's own.
- Claim an affiliation or appointment we do not hold.
- Take a heating, air-conditioning or duct job that belongs to another trade.
- Publish a review, rating or case study we did not receive from a customer.
Hours and coverage
Mobile service within 40 miles of Orange Park. There is no walk-in counter and no published street address, because there is nothing at one to visit. Appointments are booked by phone.

Heating and air conditioning are a different trade, licensed differently and carried on a different van. If that is what has failed, a mechanical contractor is who you want, and saying so on the phone costs you nothing. The only air this company moves is the air a kitchen hood pulls through its own duct, and the only refrigerant it handles is the charge sealed inside a built-in refrigerator.
What is usually asked about the shop?

- It means no appointment, no contract and no programme membership with Viking or Composition Brands. The make is named to say which appliances are repaired and for no other reason. Work still inside the manufacturer's own warranty belongs with their network, and we say so on the phone rather than take the job.

- No. Ballast Point Appliance services built-in kitchen appliances built by Viking, the appliance manufacturer: ranges and rangetops, wall ovens, cooktops, built-in refrigeration, ventilation hoods and dishwashers. It is not a heating or air-conditioning company. Furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, air handlers and house duct work belong to a mechanical contractor, not to us, and we say so on the phone rather than send a van. The kitchen is the whole of the book.
